Finally some images from UMX 2009

I’ve finally gotten around to posting some images from the 2009 Ultimate Music eXperience here on A Tenuous Blog.

These images aren’t my selects for submission to the Capitol Hill group but they are some of my favorites. For various reasons – motion blur, busy background, too much contrast – I don’t think they are the best promotional images.

I found that I’m attracted to the images with motion; images that convey some of the energy that these musicians were putting out. I really dig the tossed hair and blur in the hands. I’m also partial to images with a strong presence of chiaroscuro – contrast between light and dark.

I’ll post my favorite example of chiaroscuro tomorrow. For now enjoy these images from UMX 2009.
