The ice is melting off of Ferril Lake in Denver’s City Park. With the melt comes the renewed opportunity of shooting reflections.

Today I photographed the tightly wrapped packages with trapped moisture. Doesn’t sound like much, but I think the images are actually quite nice.
Denver Photowalk Group – Creativity Workshop
The Denver Photowalk Group had their first Creativity Workshop yesterday at Confluence Park in Denver, Colorado. I was a great time (although I might be a little biased) and I think it was beneficial to everyone who showed up.

I’ve been think of this project for a few years. It all began seeing the shadow of a tree cast against a building’s wall by floodlights. It was eerie and stretched and, well, neat.

Today’s theme is scars on wood. I was exploring the way cracks or knot-holes disrupted the “smooth” pattern on the bark.

I have always enjoyed Botanical images; their mix of formality and abstraction, something readily identifiable but so graphic in nature.
The hunt for “Migration” continues
Closer and closer. I’ve got a few more ideas for my “Migration” images. I’m wondering if adding a stationary object to the image will intensify the feeling of motion I’m after.

I hadn’t intended on shooting a theme of repetition today but that’s what ended up happening. The lead image wasn’t the first of the group but I believe it is the best.
